- Introducing BidBurglar
-
How many times have you been bidding on an item and been pipped to the post at the last second, even though you were watching the screen intently and your finger was hovering over the mouse? It's fairly safe to say that the person who won the item used an ebay sniper to beat you.
- What does Bid Burglar actually do and what's a 'snipe' ?
-
BidBurglar places your bid on eBay in the vital few seconds before the auction comes to an end. This is called a 'snipe'. When you snipe to win an auction, your bid is not registered with eBay at the time you input the bidding information, instead it's held on our site until the very last moment of auction. It is far quicker and much more reliable than trying to input your bid manually. Put it this way - if someone is bidding against you without using sniping technology, they will, in around 99% of cases, lose the item. Use BidBurglar and you vastly increase your chances of winning.
- How much does Bid Burglar cost ?
-
For the first 14 days, using BidBurglar is totally free. After that period expires, you can buy more snipes as and when you need them. Here's a rundown of Pay Per Snipe costs:

10 winning snipes - $9.95
25 winning snipes - $18.95
50 winning snipes - $29.95
100 winning snipes - $49.95
1 month - $7.95
3 months - $18.95
8 months - $29.95
12 months - 49.95
Remember, with Pay Per Snipe - the more snipes you buy, the cheaper they become. We only count snipes as being 'used' if you win an auction i.e. you only pay for winning snipes- if for some reason you withdraw your bid or you don't win your auction, you don't 'use up' your snipe.
- Can I get more free snipes after the free one 14 day period ?
-
Yes, simply refer a friend to BidBurglar. If they sign up for the 14 day trial, you earn yourself some free snipes! You could, in theory, keep getting free snipes forever - your only limitation is how many friends you have or how many people you can convince to sign up.
- Is it necessary to provide you with my eBay Password ?
-
All bids made through BidBurglar are made on your behalf. If we don't have your eBay password and user Id eBay will reject your bid, not recognizing you as a bona fide customer.
- What are the main reasons for sniping in auctions ?
-
Sniping saves you time and money. Some auctions last for weeks - you don't have to be at your computer at all during this time, your bid will be automatically placed for you in the final few seconds of the auction, leaving you to concentrate on other things. Also, because your bid is not registered with eBay, other bidders can't see that you're interested in an item. This can help avoid the emotionally charged bidding 'war' that all buyers dread.
Another reason for using BidBurglar is if you happen to have a change of heart/interest regarding an item. If you place your bid through eBay, you are bound by their terms of agreement and your bid must be honoured. With BidBurglar you can cancel your bid up until 5 minutes of auction close with no penalty.
The ability to change your mind is invaluable. Personal needs and circumstances can often change during the course of an auction.
- Why can't I just use some software on my computer to snipe instead ?
-
Auctions can take place at all times of day or night. Your computer must be on to make the bid for you, unlike with BidBurglar you could be in any country, any house and your bid would still be placed without having to remember to leave your computer on, or if you have an unfortunate power cut and your computer resets, losing your bidding information.
The servers BidBurglar use are much more stable and effective than the connections most home computers have to the internet. Bids can be lost via these unreliable connections.
Some programs you use on your home computer can slow your internet connection down. If this happens, auctions can be lost.
Using intenet based BidBurglar gives you the freedom to place bids from anywhere in the country, or even outside the country on any computer with internet access. It's the best and easiest way to win auctions!
- What if two people try and win the same item with BidBurglar ?
-
If one bidder is prepared to pay more for the item than the other, then he will win the auction. If both bidders insert the same maximum price that they're prepared to pay for the item with exactly the same buffer time (ie 5 seconds), the BidBurglar servers will randomly pick one bid offer instead of the other. This is an extremely rare incident though, and will only occur every million bids (approx).
- Can you ensure that my bid will win ?
-
No, we can't but we will give you a much much better chance of winning. Just input the most you'd be prepared to pay for an item and BidBurglar will do the rest.
- What if I lose an auction and was not out-bid ?
-
Sometimes the eBay servers unexpectedly go down and there's nothing we can do about this unfortunately. The net is an amazing tool and resource but is sometimes prone to power failures, software bugs.... We constantly work to make sure that our servers are operating at full effectiveness but sometimes events occur outside of our control.
- In what circumstances could BidBurglar lose an auction ?
-
If you encounter any problems with BidBurglar please let us know as soon as you can.
Reasons for missed auctions or errors may be as simple as
- Unexpected changes in eBay's servers
- Late additions/edits of an item
- BidBurglar's servers could malfunction
We aim to be the most stable, effective sniping site on the net but sometimes errors in servers do occur which affects reliability
